Residential Solar Electric Photovoltaic Systems South Sacramento
Steiner Solar would appreciate the opportunity to educate you on the benefits of a solar photovoltaic electric system for your home.
We design a system custom tailored to your specific requirements, usage patterns, and unique site characteristics and thereby maximize your savings and value over the lifetime of the system. So if you want the highest possible return from clean, renewable solar power, it is no longer somewhere in our future, it is the present. Solar energy has never been a better value. If you are interested in saving money, now is the time to add value to your home. Use the sun to help you become more energy self-sufficient by breaking free from the never-ending and ever-increasing cost of utilities.
How Photovoltaic Solar Electric Works
Photovoltaic Solar Systems can change sunlight directly to electricity using solar cells. As light hits your roof's solar panels with photons (particles of sunlight) the solar panel converts those photons into electrons of direct current ("DC") electricity. The electrons flow out of the solar panel and into an inverter and other electrical safety devices. The inverter is what converts the "DC" power into alternating current or "AC" power which powers your television, computer, and toasters use when plugged into the wall outlet.
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Components
A Solar Photovoltaic System consists of components like the following:
• PV modules (groups of PV cells)
• One or more batteries
• A charge regulator or controller for a stand-alone system
• An inverter to covert solar power from direct current (DC) to the alternating
current (AC) of the utility grid-connected system
• Wiring
• Mounting hardware or a framework (We have no-hole brackets as well)
Sunlight Requirements for Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
A photovoltaic (PV) solar electric system needs unobstructed access to the sun's rays for most or all of the day to be effective. Shading on the system can significantly reduce energy output. Climate is not a major concern because PV systems are relatively unaffected by air temperatures, and snow cover typically melts quickly because panels are positioned directly into the sunlight. Abundant year-round sunshine makes solar energy systems useful and effective nearly everywhere in South Sacramento California. |
